Other news: After suffering through a major upgrade at work to Office 2007 (the whole suite), two people on staff have volunteered to run a trial of OpenOffice for the next month. OpenOffice, you might know, is the "replacement" for the suite of Microsoft's Office. It has a word processor, speadsheet, presentation app, the whole works. AND!! It's free! Well, OpenOffice.org would like you to contribute time, donations of $$, or a variety of things you can do to help spread the word. So far, I have run OpenOffice on my notebook system which I use every day, and it has performed as good or better than the Office 2007 suite, and it's faster and easier to use as far as the graphic interface. Also, they seem to keep most of the functionality between versions, so you don't have to relearn it each new version. That's a big plus. Check it out or download it here.

September/October News:

Pond, Poles and Power Lines - American Vistas Series

July/August News:

Taking some time from behind the viewfinder for a few weeks to recharge.

June News:

My day job has been intense this month, so haven't done much this month. I am working on replacing our law office's Case Intake System along with our Membership Management System by combining them into a single CRM (Customer Relations Management) system. That, along with the fact that my Nikon 70-200 zoom lens was at the Nikon Repair Center for over a month, has set back my work for this month. No excuses, but that's the thing. Please stop back next week..

April/May News:

Be sure to check out the NEW PICS in the Gallery.

Selected works from my "Upstate" Series will be at the Tantillo Gallery in Albany (488 Broadway near Pine) the weekend of May 2nd. Opening reception from 5-9pm. This is a benefit for The Starlight Foundation, a New York City based organization whose mission is to help seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities.

The winner of the first Print Giveaway is Jacky Kirkpatrick---Congratulations, Jacky (a photo of the presentation will be here soon).

A month long show, in November, of selected works is scheduled at The MochaBlend Cafe espresso bar (720 Hoosick Street in Troy--just up the street from RPI ). Congratulations to them for being a top winner of Capital Region Living Magazine's "Best Lunch Spot for 2008". Click here for CRL Mag's write-up on MochaBlend.

ANNOUNCING "Victorian Variations - Reliving the Dream (Volume One)". This is a new "Blurb.com" book that Ken Peters and I have just released. Available in either hardcover or softcover, it is eighty pages of combined prose/poetry by Ken with digital imagers created using Photoshop and various filters by yours truly. The images are derived from Victorian era photographs of ladies in various stages of undress in a variety of classic poses on a plethora of decidedly non-computer generated and somewhat silly, but none-the-less effective, interior sets. Click on the Blurb link below for more information on the book, including an 18 page PDF "Preview" of it that you may download, as well as an e-commerce order page to purchase it online directly from Blurb.com (the link actually takes you to the Blurb website and bookstore).

The images on my site are the culmination of a lifetime of experience, although in real time they are only of the last two years (2005-2007) since I took the digital plunge and invested in Nikon D200 and D70 SLR cameras. I have been doing photography and graphics related work for over ten years combined with over forty years of rolling around Mother Earth while trying to gather no moss. Hopefully the work reflects this. If you wish to know a bit more about me, please see my artist's "statement" on the About page.
