About

There is a beauty to New York and the New England area that is unique. With the exception of the explosion of color in autumn, it is, geologically, more subtle than some other parts of the U.S., and with the ever-present woodlands and their trees, more "complex" (if you will) than the southwest. It is also more varied in its flora and fauna due to the constant rotations of the seasons. Winter snow and summer rain keep this part of our great country teeming with life all year round.

My portfolio of the beauty of New York revolves around the Adirondack mountains, the Hudson River and the woods and meadows that were home to native Americans long before the first Dutch settlers came up the Hudson from Manhattan and settled in Albany in 1686. The mountains, meadows, lakes, shorelines and their vistas, with their infinite colors and texures, all provide a lush habitat for the animals and natural vegetation that are the focus of much of my natural landscape photography.

In addition to the natural places, the historic sites throughout the state, both in the cities and the small towns and villages, add to the endless array of raw material for the digital imaging of urban landscapes in my portfolio.
